Sometimes in crypto, people use the same language to describe very different things. This is unfortunate, because it obscures real and substantive differences like between Polygon and zksync.Both of them talk about unified liquidity and unlimited scalability but they are quite different.
When we talk about unified liquidity, it doesn't just mean that Ethereum assets are all deposited in the same contract.
Unified liquidity means the ability to seamlessly interact with shared liquidity pools on other chains - at unlimited scale.
Liquidity isn't really unified if cross-chain latency is several minutes or it takes hours to generate a proof-of-transaction.
Polygon 2.0 brings unified liquidity, with cross-chain interactions that are seamless and instant. You can't get there with L3s and ZK bridges. Polygon zkEVM already offers a better path to ZK scalability, with the fastest ZK tech in the industry.
