Decentralized Social Media is actually starting to become a thing?

/u/MalouwCryptocurrency News & Discussion https://ift.tt/kYWUMit

I saw some stats for a decentralized tiktok version called HotOrNot, and apparently they have thousands of daily active users. 441 active users in 30 min is actually impressing for a blockchain app, considering even well-known defi dapps often gets a similar number per day. There's a lot of lewd stuff on there. I don't use TikTok, but I get a feeling this one is a bit more spicy, not gonna put any judgement there though. Seems to be popular in countries like India, Brazil and Nigeria. Odysee.com is also fairly active with a large user base and I think it would count as a decentralized version of Youtube, although I'm not 100 % sure on governance. Nostr and Minds also keeps popping up but I haven't used them yet. dscvr.one is also pretty cool, a decentralized reddit essentially.

Post more interesting decentralized social media apps if you know of any!
