Is someone other than yourself involved in the protection or recovery of your private keys? How do you enable someone you trust to access your funds in case you can't?

I'm not asking for specifics, because that should obviously remain a secret. I was just wondering if there was a wallet that would enable a second party to access my funds if I was inactive for a year or something similar. Independent of whether I lost access to it or something happened to me. It would be easy to implement, but surely someone smarter has thought of it longer than me.

Other solutions I can think of: lawyer, testament, simply handing someone a copy.
